Burnley Brow Community School Welcome

Welcome to Burnley Brow Community School Website.  My name is Helen Atkinson-Smith and I am proud to be Headteacher of this wonderful school.  At Burnley Brow we encourage all our learners to have high aspirations.  We actively promote enquiry, independence, cooperation and self-challenge underpinned by key values of respect, courage, honesty, cooperation and responsibility.

As a parent myself I know how important the right school is for your child.  If you choose our school for your child, you have entrusted us with one of the most important and rewarding jobs in the world; that of the education and welfare of your child.

We were graded ‘Good’ in our last OFSTED inspection in October 2014 and continue to evolve and grow to facilitate an exciting and fulfilling learning experience for our children.  We believe that our children need to have access to many experiences and we aim to provide opportunities for children to succeed in many different areas of life.  

Our aim is for all children to achieve high standards by focusing on the quality of teaching, behaviour and safety, leadership and management, attainment and progress and our Early Years Provision.  We want our children to be able to make informed choices and be confident to stand up for what they feel is right.  We follow the Respect Charter which is a clear moral code for rights and responsibilities. We teach our children key skills which prepare them for life and teach them to recognise their responsibility for the environment and their role as global citizens.

I firmly believe that by working together we can offer your child an exciting, loving, fun-filled and educationally challenging time within our school.
